The United States Supreme Court, in a 5-4 decision, has upheld President Trump's travel ban 3.0. After suffering multiple defeats at lower court levels, President Trump's third version of a travel ban against numerous predominantly Muslim populated countries will now be fully implemented.
The Supreme Court rendered its decision in part on the fact that the travel ban 3.0 proclamation, was based on a study of over 200 countries and their effectiveness in providing background information and success in preventing terrorism. The Court stated that the President has wide constitutional power to limit those entering our country and that such power is also afforded to the President by Congress. Noteworthy is that the Court also stated that President Trump's campaign trail comments on the subject matter were not applicable, as being outside the scope and four corners of the proclamation's language.
The Supreme Court's decision has come down in the midst of our country's currently raging uncivil war where people are persecuted, harassed and even assaulted in restaurants and at their homes for their political beliefs and opinions. Right or wrong and like it or not, this decision has come from the highest court in our land and should be respected and followed accordingly. Hopefully going forward, all of our courts at every level will render objective decisions based upon law and fact and refrain from decisions of political bias and product.
