Automobile accidents are well known to frequently cause serious injuries to the occupants of the cars involved in the accident. When people sustain injuries from a car accident, they may often suffer from post traumatic stress/anxiety disorder. This sometimes manifests itself as a crippling fear of driving and may require treatment with a psychologist or psychiatrist in order to remedy the problem.
In our everyday stressful lives, there are of course other forms and causes of anxiety disorder besides automobile accidents. However, a new unofficial type of anxiety disorder has emerged known as Trump Anxiety Disorder (TAD). This anxiety disorder is said to be caused by President Donald Trump and emanates from one's inability to accept the fact that Donald Trump is the President of the United States. As a result, there has been a reported increase in people seeking psychological counseling in order to cope with their TAD.
Political division and frustrations appear to be at an all time high among Americans. In addition to this division resulting in loss of relationships with family and friends, it has now reached a point where it is compromising one's health. If you are not convinced that there is a high level of political discord among Americans, then perhaps the scream-fest scheduled for November 8, 2017 may convince you otherwise. Reportedly on November 8, 2017, scores of people will go outside in unison and scream helplessly up into the sky in protest and commemoration of the one year anniversary of President Donald Trump's election victory.
While all of this may mean an increase in business for the mental health profession, it does not vote well for helping our country get beyond the past and move forward. If Americans work together instead of against each other, there is no limit to what we may achieve politically and otherwise. Perhaps by working together we will be able to eliminate problems and disorders alike, instead of giving rise to new ones.
