While we all would like to eat healthier, that task is becoming more and more difficult with the current state of food production and regulation. The latest issue is a recall of packaged fruits, vegetables, salads and sandwiches containing apples. In particular, are sliced apples distributed to fast food chains such as McDonald's and Burger King.
The recall affects more than 30 states across the nation and warns of possible listeria bacteria contamination. We all remember the infamous Taco Bell recall, that left Taco Bell parking lots predominantly empty for many months that followed. Althought thankfully there are no reported illnesses from this latest contamination, one can't help but be alarmed at the increased frequency of such problems. Now more than ever, the buyer must be aware.
