The Office of Court Administration (OCA) has established The Court Families Assistance (CFA) Fund, to aid those families in the legal community seriously impacted by Sandy. Among the millions of people along the east coast affected by Sandy, are many judges and non-judicial employees who have been displaced or lost their homes entirely.
Similar funds were established for the 2001 World Trade Center victims and the 2005 Hurricane Katrina victims, which raised hundreds of thousands of dollars in assistance. The proceeds form The CFA Fund, will be distributed for necessary expenses associated with food, clothing, shelter and medical care.
The CFA Fund was established in partnership with the Center for Court Innovation and the Fund for the City of New York. All donations to the CFA Fund are tax deductible. Donations are being accepted on the Unified Court System's website at www.nycourts.gov. You may also access the Unified Court System's website and other storm related helpful links at www.liattorney.com/resource-links.html.
